Our Values

Our clinic was founded on the belief that service to our patients and community can make a difference to the quality of all our lives. We know your ability to hear is essential for you to share fully in life’s relationships. Our desire is to support you in re-establishing and enhancing your quality of life through listening to your concerns, identifying your hearing needs, and assisting you to meet those needs in a respectful and caring manner.

While we are here to serve the hearing health needs of people in the Cariboo, we also recognize our responsibility to serve those that are less advantaged in our community and in other parts of our world. Some ways we seek to do that include the following:

  • We have accepted donated hearing aids and used them to provide amplification for those who are in need, donating our professional services to ensure that as many people as possible have the benefit of quality amplification to support their personal and work relationships. (In one instance, this made the difference between the individual retaining her seasonal employment and losing it.)

  • We have donated time to set up a loaner hearing aid system for terminally ill individuals so that they can get the most out of their remaining time with family.

  • We have provided contributions to local organizations, such as the Quesnel food bank, and the Amata House Women’s Shelter.

  • We work with the Lions Club hearing aid program.

Internationally, the clinic has been involved in several projects related to hearing health, health education and screening, and community infrastructure projects such as erecting much needed school buildings. The following are examples of these projects:

  • Chile — We provided hearing testing, hearing protection devices, and hearing aids to the local people in the Quirihue district.

  • Honduras — We were part of the team building an elementary school complex in Choluteca.

  • India — We were part of a team of health professionals providing health education and screenings in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh.

  • Ecuador — We again participated in a project to build a local elementary school.

We thank you, our patients, for your support of Quesnel Hearing Centre, for otherwise we could not have the privilege of serving you, our local community, or our international community.
